On further research, it seems only a particular fork of the Popcorntime project has bitten the dust (https://popcorntime.io). This afternoon I downloaded this fork http://popcorn-time.se/ and it works fine......for now!....

After a quick play around with Stremio, I came across live UK TV (filmon). Bonus.

I have switched to TVMC http://www.tvaddons.ag/tvmc-windows/ as suggested by Chicog and so far it's been great. Lots of content and also has good subtitle features. I got my subs working well but haven't figured out how to add "opensubtitles.org" to the list so I can only find English and Chinese subs. Would love to get Thai subs working for my wife.
