I don't think it's not "govt dipshits".

I just ran two tests.

One to a German Vodafone server:

http://speedcheck.vodafone.de/

Gives me 11.1 / 1.9.

The other is an extensive network test based on US westcoast (Berkeley).

http://netalyzr.icsi.berkeley.edu/

Gives me: 7.7 / 2.4

First result is close to normal/best values compared to tests done over the last three weeks.

Second result is below average but would still allow most streaming use (except when streaming is explicitelty throttled by the ISP, which is much harder to find out).

I am subscibed to ToT fibre 30 / 3.

But I am living upcountry, only private fibre connection in the whole village.

Not sharing with too many, no local bottlenecks expected.

testmynet shows me 7.1 download.

BUT it's quite nontransparent.

Not easy to see to where (location) the test is done?

Just found it: to Hong Kong.

This is not very practical for typical expat use.

Repeated for San Jose: 5.1, that's OK for some applications but quite narrow for certain streaming.

London 4.1, that's close to "poor".

3bb sucks. But no better option at the moment. Clearly not enough competition in ISPs in Thailand. Guess the amount needed in a "brown envelope" is not worth spending for any new companies .

Are you using a VPN or other location cloaking system?
