Chong Sa Ngam Boarder Crossing

Featured Replies

Have friends coming from Down Under on 15 Dec and they want to cross into Cambodia on about 21st at Chong Sa Ngam.

They are a.young family of 5.

Have Down Under and Cambodian passports.

Is the boarder crossing open?

Anything special i should let them know?

Yes the crossing is open.

What passports do they plan on entering Thailand on. It might be best for them to enter on their Cambodian passports that would give them a 14 day entry.

Not sure what Cambodia's rules are on holding dual nationalities. If they enter here on their Australian passports they might be questioned about entering on Cambodian passports after departing here on the Australian passports.

I think dad and the kids will be on Aus passports, but mum may be on Cambodian passport, but not sure as she's just been made an Aussie.

They will be here on the 15 Dec, (got many jobs for dad to do), and plan to go to Cambodia on 21st or they can't enter Cambodia until the 21st.

So think they have that sorted.

Thanks. smile.png

Those on Australian passports will have to get a Cambodia visa on arrival that will cost $30 each.

Plus 'tip'.

Not normal at Choam Sa-Ngam

OP - here's a past thread with more info/detail

There was a delightful man on the visa table at Chong sa Ngam, we used to take him fruit as a present.

We used to take groups through and we agreed a 'tip' when the poor fellow was complaining about having to buy his own visa stamps and book of visa stickers! smile.png.

It is my favourite border crossing into Cambodia, even Thai immigration were friendly. A friend has permanent residency and it always causes a hiatus at Thai immigration points - at Chong sa Ngam the boss ran and got her camera to photograph my friend and his PR book.
