I am looking at staying on the river front this time. I have found some through Google and Thai Visa that are suitable. Any recommendations with WiFi? Thank you.

I made this narrative up for some friends ...

Ruan Thai Guest House and Jing Joe's Guest House ... About 20 meters in back of the Mekong River Walk - Both Guest Houses are about 400 Baht a night (may get up to 500) located on Rim Khong Alley which parallels the River Walk. They share a small parking lot. Jing Joe's Guest House and Cafe is owned by an Aussie friend of mine named John -- "Jing Joe" .. it is a Pizza place with authentic pizza But John offers a Wide array of Western Style food - all quite good - especially breakfast. Jing Joe Pizza & Guest House - Phone 0908487748. This is the Google Maps GPS coordinates for both places ... 17.884250, 102.744667

A well known 'landmark' nearby - about 50-70 meters - is a huge Vietnamese Restaurant called - Daeng Namnuang Vietnamese Food - เวลาทำการ โทร. Tel. 042411961, ... Every Tuk Tuk driver in Nong Khai knows where this Vietnamese restaurant is located. The two guest houses are just a very short walk down Rim Khong Alley - 50-70 meters or so - upriver. The long River Walk is here too. The back side seating of Daeng's Vietnamese Restaurant faces the Mekong River and the River Walk. Here is the restaurant web site ... http://daengnamnuang.net/ It is mostly in Thai Language - but the photos are helpful.

Many interesting things go on along the River Walk... large open air markets spring up two - three afternoons and evenings each week, plus Festivals with traditional arts and crafts and music/dancers. Down the River Walk from the Vietnamese Restaurant is a very large and extensive covered market -- open seven days a week - quite an experience. On the River Walk here in the area I describe - you can look up river and see the bridge to Laos -- plus river boats and fishing boats. And of course the river bank side of Laos. There are fancier Hotels and Guest Houses on Rim Khong Alley and just off the River Walk while walking up river. A good one is Mut Mee. Google Maps GPS coordinates for Mut Mee is ... 17.883832, 102.742198 ... Mut Mee Garden Guesthouse, 1111/4 Kaeworawut Road, Nong Khai 43000.
