A lack of workers is now to blame for the delays in completing the drain construction outside of Index Living Mall

PHUKET: -- First it was a lack of sand, now not having enough workers is to blame for the delays in completing the drain construction outside of the Index Living Mall on bypass road according to the project’s engineer.

Samkong Tunnel Construction Project Engineer Chalermpon Wongkietkun told The Phuket News yesterday (Nov 18) that another reasons no one has been seen working on the construction of the new drains along the bypass road is because workers have run into a leveling problem.

“This problem must be fixed before we can install the pipe. Levelling the the area ready for the pipe installation could take some time, it requires precision and if we are not precise we will have problems in the future.

With the recent election results in Burma, and foreign investment flooding into the country, many of the Burmese labourers may return home in the near future.

Good luck finding Thai labourers to do the hard work that the Burmese do in Thailand.

Beijing will sort that small problem out for the Thais. Mark my words.

Just another Thai construction shambles......managed of course, by the local administration......

Any guesses for a budget boost soon??

I wonder if the "Leveling problem" might be related to the drain grate being higher than the adjacent road its supposed to be draining.
