I'm in the market for a second hand motor bike.between THB20,000 and THB30000.

Any ideas anybody?

Cheers

Mate as i have been told before for an extra 7000-10000-ish baht you can have yourself a brand new one.. Up 2 U as they say..Otherwise all the motorbike dealers sell (high priced in my insignificant opinion) second hand bikes in decent nick..happy trails.

Plastic pig wise, a brand spanker 100cc is only about 30-odd k and a 125, around 40k - basic models. Those Yamaha direct drive scooters go alright and look a laugh. Doesn't matter if you look a tit because everyone's in the same boat here. No point in getting a super-duper 150 or 175 :D as not as easy when on a bender. :o:D

I saw an ad tacked up on the billboard outside the Kasem Store yesterday for appeared to be a late model motorbike. I think the owner wanted 21,000 for it and said there was some urgency to sell. Might still be there. Good luck.

I've got a mate who has a motorbike rental place up there, but bigger bikes. I think he dabbles a bit in the buying and selling as well. He's a bit flaky though. PM me if you want me to put you in touch :o

Anyone know of good places for 'old' bikes... not quite the classics, but 60's-70's style Honda's that aren't too big, but look quite nice when done up.

I bought one about 7 yrs ago from the market that used to be under 12 Huay Goaw. Cost 9k, in av. condition. Saw one completely restored a few months later completely restored for 40k. Its on its last legs now though.

These days they have become quite fashionable, but rediculously expensive - saw a real nice 250cc one, dual pipes, but they wanted 70k.

Info on good repair shops for such bikes also welcome.

I would suggest that you check with my friend 'Joe' at Good Will motorcycle on Soi2 Chiang Moi (intersection with Thai Military Bank). Phone is 251-186. He's selling/fixing various bikes, some he has owned, and you can trust him. Seriously. :o

Every SAT . if it Don't RAIN there will be a Garthering at the Thapae Gate . Chekc it out .. and there is alot of Bike collector .. Go there to look for . Repair info .

but i would not Suggest buying there.. unles syou know them well.

alot is price too high .. but is a large group of collector which can point you to good direction ..

i saw some of the honda 50 cc . selling for 10k or so .

i got a friends selling his Honda 250cc for 30k . but without paper work . ( risk )
