First of all, thanks to everyone for the advice given for my g/f’s visa application. In the end, armed with the right knowledge, it’s all quite logical but without this forum I don’t think we would have got it! :D

We have stated in the visa that she will be coming on Nov 9th and returning on Dec 6th but I assume the visa is valid from the issue date and for 6 months. I am aware that the duration of the stay should not be exceeded but is there any problem with moving the dates, i.e. 9th January to 6th Feb.

There would valid reason for this, her papa is sick. Not too sure what’s happening and I’m just thinking through the options.

Any opinions and advice would again be appreciated. :o

As long as she did not sign an undertaking to return by a certain date, she can enter and leave the UK at anytime during the validity of the visa.

Even if she was asked to sign an undertaking to return, it is not legally binding. Although not complying with it may cause problems with future applications, in these circumstances I'm sure she'd be ok, as long as she explains the change of dates when she makes a future application.
