I've seen them in a massage shop on rachtadamnoen for 1500b upwards, for exactly the same one I can get it for half the price in the uk, why are things so expensive now in Thailand? Any ideas where I can get a cheaper one? Not back in the uk for another 3 months

In the meantime sort yourself with a proper candle powered one.

Mae sai would be cheaper....if you are passing

Expensive probably due to import taxes or simply shops seeing tourists as guĺlible and will buy any old crap.

Central Festival has a huge selection, expensive as you would expect but they have big reductions when they have sales. Only problem is knowing when those particular things are on sale....

If you know anyone coming over, or even having a family member mail one over to you is probably your best bet. Make sure they use EMS.

Muji.

I'm perfectly happy with the expensive Muji diffuser I bought here. Well designed and functional.

I order essential oils from Iherb.

It's all good.
