Hello,

Just thought I'd share my experience of yesterday getting Thai Driving License at the DLT Chatuchak.

Got there around 1145 and left with my new Thai Driving License at about 1330, with 12 to 1 being lunch break!

Everything went smooth, presented all my papers, passed 4 Eye Tests, paid B205 & got clicked... that's it, there's my Temp Car Driving License with 2 years validity wink.png

Note, if you've got Driving License (in English) from your country, you don't need to go through written or driving tests, just 4 easy eye tests.

To get it all you need is

1) Passport

2) Non-Im Visa (mine is only with 40 days of extension left)

3) Residence Certificate (in my case B970 from my Embassy)

4) Health Certificate (B80 from a Govt Hospital near my home)

5) Driving License from home country

6) B205 Fees

7) Smile smile.png

Cheers...

Vin

Since 23 March 2015.

Thanks to the OP for the report.

That was really easy.

You didn't have to watch some boring video?

Also a confirmation that is possible with an English language home country DL without an international DP or translation to Thai.

80 Baht for the med. cert. is hard to beat biggrin.png

Res. cert. from embassy for 970 is also quite moderate.

Can't be German embassy Itongue.png

DLT Morchit/Chatuchak have the video about how to do the health tests on a loop alternating between Thai and Engliah instructions.

Forgot my full license at home but had my provisional with me and they accepted it as a full license! Even better UK licenses are accepted for bike too as it has a bike image on the back of the U.K. license. Have friends with U.S. licenses who've been refused a bike license even though it says all vehicles on theirs.
