Computer Games

Featured Replies

I'm currently looking for some good computer games, so I'm here to ask for your suggestions!

I am looking for any type of game excluding those shooting and racing games.

thanks!

ps. what is world of warcraft...what is the game like? can it only be played online?

whats the difference between that and Warcraft III The Frozen Throne

World of Warcraft (WOW) is a MMORPG, or massively multiplayer online role playing game. Yes, it can only be played online, and sadly the servers are located in the USA. It's an RPG game, not an RTS (like the Warcraft 3), so you only play one character and develop his/her abilities and stats.

Good games... hmm. Company of heroes is a realistic RTS game, set in WW2. Lego Star Wars is cute, and nice for passing the time.

"and sadly the servers are located in the USA"

But can't i still access the servers from anywhere in the world? (or would the problem be that it'll be slow?)

By the way, what is RTS?

thx for your reply

you want a great game (non shooter, non sports)

fantasy mystery game called MYST III (3)

it's bizarre, it's wierd, it's really very cool. Long too (worth the money.)

Need brain power to play it though.

There are so many different kinds of games and gamers that I really have to believe you'd have a much better chance of finding something you might like by spending a few hours reading a game review site, instead of soliciting recommendations in this forum. (Be careful, though, at least half the game review sites seem to have been thrown up by paid/compensated reviewers.)

Unless you're looking for games specific to Thailand. Outside of some games that have been translated into Thai e.g. Ragnarok or The Sims, I don't think such a thing exists. Although I'd love to see someone develop Beer-Bar Tycoon or a bar-girl dating sim.

fxm88,

In fact, i already did that and it takes a while to actually find a good game. And like you said, some of the reviewers are paid to write those reviews, so thats why I'm here asking for other people's opinion. It could save me some time since i can just search the game online (that u ppl will suggest me). If i dont like the game, i just wont buy it!

anyways, thanks for the advice.

The WoW servers are accessible from around the world, but of course there is lag. It would be much better if the servers were located locally.

There are a lot of Asian MMORPG games that have servers in Thailand, like Lineage. Also tons of the "normal" online games, like Batllefied II or Quake or CS or RTS games. A lot less laggy, but of course it's Thais playing. You could also try Singaporean servers, but results may vary.

Download the game and nuke everyone. Deeply strategic fun.

Company of Heroes as previously mentioned.

Hitman- Blood Money, which does involve shooting people, but is much more about strategy and puzzle solving.

World of Warcraft plays OK on US servers from Thailand, but it will consume your life. Even better and even more life consuming is Oblivion which is single player.
