Shipping items on regular passenger train Chiang mai to Bangkok?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I will be in BKK. I have my bicycle in CNX. I need to get it to BKK this week, but I am unable to get it on my own. Will the state of Thai railways allow cargo to be shipped without having a passenger accompany it to its destination? I have a friend who is able to take it to the station and pay for whatever fees.

I was thinking, maybe, my friend could take my bicycle straight to the cargo check-in, pay for the weight (around 90 baht), and load it up on the train without getting on. Is this possible? Or is there an official procedure?

Use the Post Office, much easier.

Will move this to Chiang Mai forum for local input.

Train very easy, can do without passanger accompanying. Office for freight is small building behind the main office, just go through the main office and down west side of the track about 30 meters.

Train or bus will get it there faster than PO.

What is the easiest way to ship a motorbike to one of the islands...like maybe Koh Phan Gan?
