Hi. As far as I understand it there are no 3G services in Thailand at the moment (in fact I dont think licenses have been granted). There was a post a week ago about a service in Phuket but nothing in Bangkok.

Nope. Hutch uses the CDMA 1X system and CAT is rolling out exactly the same.

Speeds of up to 143 kbps (but average anywhere between 30 and 100 kbps)

There was a post a while back about a 1024 kbps capable wireless system in Phuket, but it never got confirmed what it exactly was, or if the speedtest done was repeatable...
