Car Rental Recommendations?

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend a good value car rental company in Chiang Mai? I'm look to rent a car for 2 days in early January.

If you arrive by plane Hertz or Budget will do. Convenient pickup and return at the airport. For 2 days I would not bother looking for a place that is few baht cheaper. In january I rented a car at Hertz. I had the SCDW also. They did not complain about the big dent I had made in the car when I returned it. I did hit a concrete pillar in the hotel parking :(

What about a longer rental? Like 2 weeks. One way; pick up Chiang Mai, drop off Bangkok.

If you look at the top menu bar of TV you will see one called "Rent A Car" this will give you all the options you need. About 30$US a day for a small car.

I only ever access TV via the mobile app and never see ads. I'll have to check this out.

I strongly recommend AVIS.

You can book online at avisthailand.com

if you agree to pre-pay the car, the rate will be even lower.

Not sure how much they charge early January as this is still peak season, but during low season cars could be had for as low as 800 Baht a day. Take notice there is a 20K deposit, they will open your credit card the day you pick up the car.

Used them many times at several locations in TH, including CM, and never had problems.
