New Years Party for those looking for an upscale experience?

Featured Replies

I've got some friends coming into town that are looking for an upscale New Years party. Last year they went to Nikki Beach, but said it was not that happening. They are willing to travel, so location doesn't matter, just that they are looking for a fun place targetting the age group from mid 20's to late 30's.

If you know of a place, now is the time to give it a free plug.

Nikki Beach Club closed mid year reopened in mid-Dec as Dream Beach- they are having a black and gold party hosted by Ministry of Sound.

Come with plenty dough, and be prepared to mix with the arabs/ruskies.

Upscale venue with a downscale crowd.

Par for the course on Phuket really. Just not enough upscale people to keep a upscale night venue running if it tries to filter out "undesirables with a bit of cash"

Be interesting to see what it's like at these venues charging upscale prices this year. Got a few chums going where the entry prices are 5K plus with not a lot thrown in. Xmas and NY is nearly always busy everywhere but at least when I've been in countries at big NY Events with 5-10K baht entry fees they normally try to keep the numbers manageable so that people can at least move. Gotta funny feeling that won't be the case here, more likely than not as many folks that turn up with their 5-10k will be let in with punters inside then battling to order drinks at bars 20 deep. I'd love to be proved wrong, but.........

Upscale AND Phuket is not really something I've ever experienced. Bangla def not upscale, loadsa trash, not much cash. And Nikki, if it's anything like what it was like before, cashed up trash, but still trash. Upscale it most definitely ain't.

Upscale & Phuket.......those two words together do not compute

True.

These days here, establishments have to lower their standards to turn a baht.

Once again, devaluing the Phuket brand.

Basically, becoming more and more like Pattaya, but, at 2 to 3 times the cost.

Hardly sustainable.

reality eventually becomes undeniable especially when it hits the wallet.

the " Phuket brand " so called, has been on the nose for many years now - the chickens are coming home to roost

Go party with Brangelina at Amanpuri.

Can't get more upscale than that.

Happy New Year from Offshore Somalia.
