Wood decking recommendations anyone?

Have seen, and visually inspected, a wood flooring warehouse on Charoen Muang Rd, about 2 km from river on north side of road. Maybe they can assist you.

If you have a sketch of the area; highlighting any balustrading and steps then I would suggest going to Suksawad timber.

they will quote for the supply only of your deck in different wood types for comparison and also be able to quote for fitting.

if you want to do your decking in real, salvaged secondhand deck/floor boards then pm me and I can steer your through all the expensive secondhand timber traders around san kam/lamphun/bang ti to my wholesaler. I have bought two lots of floorboards, one from a house in Fang and one from Lamphun......whilst still in situ!

thank you - i think salvaged decking would be too much and I'm thinking mai daeng or,if possible, teak and I am waiting the architects drawings to find out the actual area

many thanks

Hi Lanna guy

From other posts you have made if you are thinking about wooden decking around your Proposed pool do some research as Chlorine and teak do not go well together. Carcagenic i think is the correct phrase some research was done years ago in the early 80 s , as a consequence all the old teak pool steps were remove as decorative bridges etc in the UK.

Personally wood and water together are a no/no.

all wood rots, no matter how well you look after it; and just as bad...those white water stains.

Hi - yes thanks - the pool will be 'round the corner' away from the deck as I have decided to put in a 15x4 or 15x5 and in front of my terrace (that will be decked) there is not enough room

deck project - probably lay the wood on battens? (balustrade will come out - I think it looks old fashioned and it will look better without )

Is the teakwood sold here not illegally logged in neighbor countries? Thought there was a ban on fresh teakwood??

there is but there is reclaimed teak etc. but I'll be going for 'mai daeng' probably as it's harder (cheaper) and insects like it even less than teak
