I'm looking for a sofa similar to what you can find in the US. Something like this:

Any recommendation on stores that may carry sofas like this?

Thanks.

INDEX Furniture, but beware the quality of recliner mechanism is poor. Turn a 2 or 3 piece suite upside down and take a look. We did, and staff will stand by or help so don't be shy.

Single seat units may be ok.

If you want the quality goods you need to go to Siam Paragon and buy something imported then tell them to deliver it.

The high end places will send a truck anywhere in the country so long as you pay the fee.

We're not in Chiang Mai but bought our La Z Boy reclining sofa (Cardinal Reclina-Way, Style Number: 30T-550) at Robinson's in Udon Thani. We prefer fabric over leather which also makes the purchase price quite a bit less. After purchase we had to wait about a month before delivery from Bangkok.

That looks nothing like the picture in the OP.

One of these popular Thai-style L-shaped modular units might be something the OP wants to consider once he sees the quality of the mechanism in locally made recliners and the price of imported recliners with good-quality mechanisms. Every nail salon I go to must use chairs from local sources because it takes two gals to push back the chair and lift up the bottom to get it into into the reclining position. While the chairs are comfortable (I almost always fall asleep during a mani/pedi), I wouldn't want something similar in my home where I don't have two people at-the-ready to get a chair into the reclining position.

We bought a big L shaped jobbie from Index. It has plastic/rubber spring hangers that don't like big western <butts>. I have replaced my end of the sofa with metal ones. Not very happy after paying nearly 60k, but at least I know it's fixed now.
