Pick up truck in Thailand overloaded with car tyres

Featured Replies

A solid 9/10 for effort.

At least he's using rope.

Normally there is just some bloke sat on the top to hold down whatever is loaded in the back!

The center of gravity is so high up now I would not want to be driving beside this truck . This is a situation waiting to happen

I've seen much worse; at least the load here is not so heavy. I've seen some loaded so heavily and unbalanced that the pickup frame has bent in the middle allowing the the back end to rest on the ground.

However, the worst I recall was seeing one in a filling station loaded with a large tree. The rootball was at the back of the bed and the trunk / branches way over the cab, almost touching the filling station canopy. A gust of wind would have seen it on its side...so I made sure that I was back on the road before him.

Come on fellas this is Thailand and the Thais being highly educated know all about the centre of gravity, and gravitational pull.

S@@t I have just bitten my tongue, must have been too far into my cheek.

I am sure in a pinch he could have squeezed a few more tires aboard. tongue.png

They could have been planning a round-the-world journey - but the bit about planning doesn't tally.

And the tires fitted on overloaded trucks? Saw a small pickup truck at the air station of a gas station filling up his tires. Truck was very full of heavy large ice chests. He filled the tires up to 80 psi. Seemed pretty likely he would have an explosive tire blow out, most likely while driving at speed. Be careful out there!
