Renewing UK passport in Thailand

Featured Replies

My passport was running out of pages, so I decided to renew now, and to use the Thai Visa Express service. My application was submitted at VFS Friday 8th January ( last week) by Thai Visa Express, and I have just received an SMS from DHL saying that the passport will be back at VFS on Monday 18th January. That's 11 days in total.

Obviously TVE cannot do anything about the speed of issuing a passport, but their renewal service takes the hassle out of applying. The service costs 5,000 THB. The application is taken to VFS in Bangkok, and collected from them when it comes back from UK, saving you two trips to Bangkok. Of course I am a little biased, but it's a good service that works well.

Thanks for this, Tony; I will soon be in the same boat. Is the 5000 just the cost of the Visa service? Is there the cost of a new PP to be added?

You need to add the cost of the passport and DHL charges. I paid 114 GBP, including the DHL courier charge for the larger (48 page) passport.
