Featured Replies

I was asking myself......is Bedlam -sometimes- also for a more serious topic? :D

OK, let's debate for a while about:

Would the World become a better place with a FEMALE President in the USA ?

Ok....OK....OK.....before you start bashing and flaming....just think a moment BEFORE you reply !

I think we all could benefit.........could we? :D

Now, I don't know if it will ever happen or if it will be Condie or Hillary.........................but.......

would the World be better......................or Worse with a female President ?

Come Ladies & Gents: shooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot ! :o

ps: I would love to have asked this question in 'General topics' but it's not Thailand related.... :D

I think the world would probably become a better place if the USA had a President.

I vote for Pam Anderson.....or.....

Er, what kind of a question is that?? Not necessarily, of course.

It depends which woman, just as much as it depends which man.

To put a better person on top, perhaps it would be a good idea to first look at the system, and try to make sure that the candidates do not need to sell their souls to lobbyist organisations and corporations to have a chance.

I'm with Udon, Madeline Albright would be a hel_l of a President: intelligent, worldly, diplomatic. Too bad she is a naturalized citizen and therefor ineligible :o

Taddy :D

Sure.

Would she have a great rack ?

:D

Chon! :D

Yes Laopo. The world would probably be a better place for a woman president in the Oval Office.

However, don't neglect the civil servants who run the country on behalf of the different "groups of elderly statesmen", for it IS they who really hold the strings in this so-called free democracy of a loony bin we call U.S. Politics.

Imagine if there WAS a woman president. And she were called Bush... :o

It's always tempting to jump to an answer with questions like this cos you don't want to sound sexist - So, yes the world would be a better place! However, it would bepend on the woman just like it does depend on the man.

The fact that we have had a 'few' female presidents and leaders around the world shows that we have moved forward, but it has taken a long time. And it doesn't happen enough.

Less serious answer now.

Things are always better with a woman on top!

Not if she is the driver of a double-decker bus.

Bad joke.

Let me try to make up for that.

Maggie T was one of the best PM's the UK has ever seen, she didn't bend or sway from her own convictions and she called a spade a spade.... I have yet to see that sort of character in the US.... and I'm not holding my breath waiting.

How about Monica Lewinski?

I hear she is familiar with the oval office. It’s a pretty short trip from under the desk to sitting behind the desk.

All she has to do is get that dress cleaned so she looks nice for the cameras.

We can have Monica as the Pres, and Hilary as the VP. Now there’s a pair – actually a couple of pairs. Or do you think Hilary would want to be on top? We already know Monica is Ok being under, so maybe the roles should be reversed?

Certainly if they can share a man they can share the White House.

Does she have to be a septic?

To be President of the United States? Yes, generally the President of a country has to be a native of that country. Just one of those funny little rules most countries have :o

a flippant post sbk, did realise that, but Mary Chilsholm could've been a goody

Definitely not Madiline not-too-bright.

We can thank her and Clinton for setting up the present conditions in North Korea.

My vote goes to Michelle Malkin or Ann Coulter. :o

But could they push the button if need be, the big red button, ... :D

I'm thinking Condi could without reservation, :o

Forgot about Condi - yep, she'd get my vote.

Ann & Michelle are not in her class.

Condi!!! :D

The pianist on her world tour.? I don't think so :o

How pathetic and infantile to still be blaming Clinton after 6 years of unmitigated disasters, incompetence, corruption, mendacity and death.

Ann Coulter does not count, she is not a woman.

I'm sure she pushes a red button regularly but its a little one.

It waSN'T THAT bad a joke taddy.... Your humour is growing on me... Let it be the only thing that does so. :D

Maggie was indeed not all that bad.

At least, if she was, at least she was as you describe her, and true to her self, and her words.

There is not a "big screen" politician I am aware of who rank close in well, in how you described maggie.

And a sense of humour has our Mags too, Small anecdote here (apparently true):

A few years ago Maggie was being driven to a Tory party conference somewhere (John Major's term/Time) and as she passes the local movie house she says "Oh! I didn't know they were expecting me!" to which her aide replies, "They are not Mi lady".

Thatcher: "Well, why have they written that on the marquee, then?"

THe aide looks up to see the name of the new Brendan Fraser Movie, " The Mummy Returns"

:D

I'm sure she pushes a red button regularly but its a little one.

This is the bit that is lacking. There is no woman in senior ranking politics that I am aware of who could do the job.

Only Colin Powell gets my respect these days. And even then, less so than 7 years ago. :D

What a pity this thread is now getting HEAVY!
