True routing IP errors?

Featured Replies

This isn't really strictly linux related but I'm posting it here because most of you will know what I'm talking about and many of you probably have similar setups.

I have both my home and office routers configured for multiple incoming connections, ssh, RDP, VNC, HTTPS, etc, etc and suddenly in the past week or 2 I am no longer able to make any remote connections to either location. I called True and of course the agent had no idea what I was actually asking her, but before I call back I and wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this?

I just did a little testing and find that although my router is showing an IP in the 100.x.x.x range, an IP lookup is showing a 58.x.x.x address. ?! Although I am an IT administrator networking is not my strongest skill, anyone have any idea what they are doing here so I can <deleted> them out correctly when I call to complain again?

Thank you, I suspected something like that. Now if only True's phone system wasn't automatically disconnecting when you select tech support for the last 2 hours... :(

What cross said. Getting past the phone staff who have no clue to the technician's who know and can disable it can be the tricky part. But can be done.
