CHONBURI, 2 February 2016 (NNT)-Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA) has launched a mobile application 'Smart Pattaya' that tells users where popular tourist sites are in Pattaya and how to get there.

DASTA Area 3 Acting Managing Director Thiti Chantangphol, said today the application has been developed to cater to tourists visiting Pattaya and areas nearby.

The application contains information on eight famous tourist attractions and their locations. They include an early Chinese village, Wonder Farm and Wat Yansangwararam Temple to name just a few.

It can be downloaded on both IOS and Android mobile phones. What sets this application apart is it provides maps for various means of transport including a personal car, a motorcycle or a bicycle to easily reach the site.

Mobile phone users will hear an audio narration, which is in Thai or English, 200 meters before arriving at the tourist spot. The DASTA Area 3 Acting Managing Director hopes this application will become popular among the tourists. While many visitors come from Western countries, some 2 million Russians visit Pattaya each year while the number of Chinese tourists also continues to grow.
