October 21, 200619 yr Recently seen a few farangs and locals jogging in Suan Phak (Talingchan) or looking as if they box. Does anyone know of a gym or training camp there? This is as much effort as I can make to actually joining, and it's taken me years to get this far, but it IS an effort, eh?!
October 21, 200619 yr In Talingchan is the well-known Kaewsamrit Camp. This camp has produced many champions and it's the camp where Anuwat Kaewsamrit lives/trains. Go to www.kaewsamrit.com for more info. There is an English guy who lives/works there full time who takes care of foreign trainees. Give him a call!
October 21, 200619 yr they are a 10 minutes walk from my house some info about their charges, address and contact number is here http://www.thaiboxings.com/text_gym_2.html
October 24, 200619 yr That link is for Sor. Vorapin Gym...another well-known gym that accepts foreign trainees. They have two gyms; one near Khaosan Rd. and another one in Talingchan. I think Kaewsamrit has the better reputation though and many foreign trainees from there have won fights at Ratchadamnoen Stadium.
October 24, 200619 yr the Sor Vorapin gym is in Suanpak soi 1 and Kaewsamrit is a bit up the road at Thungmangkon soi 22
October 25, 200619 yr Author Cheers. @400B/visit I have found yet another reason to stay at home and drink beer! Maybe when I'm a bit fitter, I'll poke my head in the door.

One on one with some of the trainers and you can learn more in a few minutes than you might expect. However, some level of fitness will make life a bit more fun for sure, otherwise next few days might be a bit sore ;-)
October 26, 200619 yr yes if you want to make the most of it I would recommend getting in reasonable shape first
