Monitor Lizard in Pool

Featured Replies

My visitor went for a swim in the condo pool. Half way along he meets a water monitor coming the other way. Both swimmers stop and the lizard turns for the pool side climbs up and drops into the lake below. We had seen monitor lizards in the adjacent lake. But this was a lot closer. One metre away. I think my visitor was lucky not to get bitten, clawed or tail whipped. I am glad it was swarthy visitor and not small child.

They are very scary in a primordial way. Had one come scurrying out toward me from a bush along my wall once. The bite is not lethal, but the bacteria it deposits sure is. Might want to let the property manager know to put in some extra chlorine in the pool.
