Wild seas. Are they calm now?

Featured Replies

I know there has been some rough conditions on the water recently but I was just wondering if anyone can confirm if things have calmed down a bit now.

Are the ferries between Donsak and the islands running and on schedule? More importantly, is it safe to travel?

Cheers

Maybe a stupid question but there might be some weather guru's here....

Any ideas how it will be over the next 2 weeks? I plan to go down from bkk for a few days soon but not waiting for rough weather and rain. Seems a bit odd for this time of the year?

Yes, weather has been a bit out of whack a bit this year.....but who knows what the future will bring, usually it is nice! fingers crossed it will stay nice !

Thanks Sj, its been a few years since I was down on the right aide of the country so was looking forward to a few sunny days

Best sign of long-term calm sea and weather is when the original Samui Maenam-Koh Phangan Tong Nai Pan ferry operates – the first this year has just arrived today at so-called "Maenam Pier" – normally the ferry-season begin mid January...thumbsup.gif

Maenam Pier 14th February 2016, 11:17 am – almost same position as Jimmy's photo in post #5, but view to the other side of Maenam Bay.

It's pretty windy, don't expect a smooth ride but I think the ferries will be running if it doesn't get any worse.
