Does anyone want a turtle?

Featured Replies

A friend of a friend of mine found a turtle on the road in central Bangkok (?) and can't keep him. We're trying to find him a good home. Does anyone want a pet turtle? Alternatively, does anyone know where we can find him a good home?

I do hope these don't carry on..........

I'd have him but I've got crabs.

Thais buy these in markets and release them into the nearest lakes, whence the merchants catch them to resell. It's called making merit.

They get cooked also, at least in Isaan.

There's a temple in Lam Luk Ka (Near Rangsit) that has a small lake that has hundreds of turtles. I think it would be happy there.

perhaps my mate is interested, he said he has a turtles head from time to timefacepalm.gif

Be careful it is not a tortoise. Otherwise you will end up drowning it.
