Lumpini or Suan Lum Night Bazaar is coming back

Featured Replies

I found out this past weekend that the Night Bazaar is coming back to Lumpini. I live just a block away and a Thai friend has told me he will be working there. I drove by there yesterday and they are already installing the shopping stalls, just thought I would pass on the word. I used to really enjoy going there, I was told they had to scrap the plans for a large project they had planned because it was too close to the MRT or subway tunnels. I am not sure if the Night Bazaar will be as big as it used to be but it sure looks like it is coming back.

Oh that is very good news. I also pass through everyday. But i see that the new project they are coming up with seems to be much more hi-so kind of thing. I hope they dont make a "Siam Paragon" kind of bazaar. The old one had a lot charm and catered to all classes, not just the rich.

The developer who secured the rights to that site is from the same group as Chang Beer. If you go by the site, you can see they are setting up a number of temporary "stalls" made out of shipping containers, like the Artbox - http://www.artboxth.com/

The same group has also set up an outdoor live music venue of sorts on an adjacent part of the site called Lumpini Square... no website, but many results if you google it.

This might be what you are referring to - This is at Lumpini Square
