usd atm at airport

Featured Replies

does anyone know if there are any atm's at the airport that dispense usd??

I've only ever seen the usual Thai bank atm's which dispense bahts.

why would there be?

only place i have experienced a USD atm in asia is cambodia because usd is the de facto currency there.

I'm pretty sure there's an SCB foreign currency ATM airside (departures level), I'm also pretty sure it only accepts SCB cards :(

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Just get the baht and head over to the exchange counter and buy dollars

Yes there is and true it doesn't accept other Thai banks ATM cards. But I think it does accept other foreign cards.

I have only used it once because it has a very low maximum daily withdrawal amount. I don't recall exactly but believe is in the range of 2-300 USD.

It's years ago, but I remember that there were (are?) ATMs airside that dispense foreign notes (not only USD).

I also know that I would avoid like the plague if not in an emergency.

You can bet that you get ripped with terrible rates.

"at the airport"

Just to make it clear: only seen airside at departure (after passing immigration/exiting Thailand).

Never seen anywhere else.

No!

Do believe you are mistaken. This is located airside in International Departures.

Just to confirm, this machine will take my international (UK) mastercard credit card.

I need 550 USD to to buy a visa in Laos. Does the machine charge an explicit fee or is it hidden in the exchange rate?

I managed to withdraw 300$ + 3$ fee. I will report the rate once transaction appears on my statement.

$550 ? For $550 you can get a Lao visa, girl + hotel and have some leftover for a case of Beer Laoi.
