Buses & Bicycles

I would like to transport my bicycle for a day trip to Chonburi city from Pattaya. I did this a few years ago by waiting near a petrol station on Sukhumvit and eventually a big city to city bus stopped and gladly took care of my bicycle for a small fee.

Today, I sat in a cafe on Suk in central Pattaya for over an hour and did not see even one of these buses in either direction. I saw many tourist, Bangkok blue buses, and hundreds of minivans but none of the aforementioned type.

Any suggestions? I do know that I could transport my bicycle from Patts to Siracha and then another to Chon city on two songthaews although this is less comfortable and more expensive.

The old style, orange and chrome, city hopping, bumper-riding, lane hopping, request stop buses have largely been replaced by city hopping, bumper-riding, lane hopping, request stop minivans these days (they have orange signage).
