Hi,

I've bought a bag from singapore where I live for my gf when she visited me this month. Apparently, the bag that i bought is sold cheaper here than in thai and her friends are asking me to get some for them when I'm heading there next month (about 5-10 bags).

Will there be an issue for me if I carry all the bags in a luggage from sg to thai?

What "bags" are these fake women's handbags ?

Or are they expensive "high end" products ?

Bringing quantities of either product may result either in an import tax liability or in the case of fakes, arrest.

no problem if not stopped, if stopped are they 'copies'

If stopped? Stopped by the customs? No they're not copies. Its a fashion brand from Singapore and they are authentic but are more expensive in thai than here

They cost around 1500 baht to 2000 baht. Authentic products.

Best you check the Customs Services rules !

Will you attempt to claim that 20,000+ Bht's worth of handbags are your "personal effects" ?

Value of items is an issue. Also, given the scrutiny some tourists are getting, I can imagine being asked "just exactly what are you going to do with 12 bags"? Are you going to sell them? Do you have a license, work permit, business usage etc?

Everybody makes this all so complicated

10 years of annual travel to Thailand and I have never been checked by Customs

Just use the Nothing to Declare lane and just walk through. The only caveat is don't have a Duty Free bag visible or you might get checked outside of the terminal

I have to argue with that, I travel in/out of Swampy up to 6 times per year and seem to be checked about once/year. I reckon a lot is to do with what time you arrive and where from.

I'm thinking being checked by Thai customs is hit or miss.I have heard the same thing. Many people have never been checked.

Then there are others that do get checked every now and then
