October 28, 200619 yr Congratulations to the Cards for doing what no one thought was possible (including me)...not only winning their 10th championship, but in 5 games against a great pitching staff in the Detroit Tigers. Now that they have the playoff jitters out of the way and have gained valuable experience, look for the Mets and the Tigers to go head to head in the 2007 series. 2 great teams with bright futures ahead. Way to go Cards!!!
October 29, 200619 yr Well, yeah ok...congrats... I guess But barely a 500 team, had a worse second half than Pittsburgh (Yes, Pittsburgh!!)scored most of their runs in the series because of errors, etc. Still, Weaver was great, and so were Carpenter and reyes when they needed to be. I guess the moral is claw and scratch your way into the playoffs and don't make any mistakes when you get there and you got a chance, especially if you got the pitching.
October 29, 200619 yr Author It's not our fault the so-called "favorites" couldn't beat us. We were the best team in baseball the past two seasons and it didn't matter in October, so this is a little redemption for that. Getting to the Series crawling is still better than watching it at home.
