THis is just for the record-maybe someone picks it up and with this knowledge answer all those frightened newbees on other fora:

Having some time to spare last week I checked out the facilities at airport express (now at least 4 money-exchanges, incl. Super Rich/Happy Rich/Value) and the floor above for transport(ation). Beside the wellknown taximeter-Qs and BELL/Pattayabus , also running to HuaHin and the Koh Chang express (now 3 times daily), there was also a stand for the vans to Khao sarn rd-incl all easy points in between (f.e. Thevet), no times posted, fare was 100 bt and the only sign was ''every hour''. Forgot to ask when last+final van would leave. Most likely these are the vans that start from there every hr on the hr to bring the backpackers at end of holiday (or for flites to other amazing ASEAN countries) and hitherto had to return empty. They will call driver on mobuy and inform him of pickups for the trip.

ALTernative is of course taxi all the way or ARL to Phayathai and then taximeter-there is going that way NO easy connection/stop into any citybus (there is though the other way with the 59 bus). This due to the stop that looks like it not being able to serve 59 as it has to stand far right lane. Next stop is only Phetburi rd/Khing Phet-nearly 8/900 mtrs away.
