Thailand Leaderless

Bangkok - The nation was suddenly deprived of it's government after a sexy clip at the Bangkok Auto Show had gone viral. Suddenly all the hot air that had previously fueled the government was forced out by the open act of defiance against the Culture minister's request of modesty, leaving only empty shells behind. Initial reactions to the loss of leadership included mainly derision: "That proves it, not much substance in balloons...", "If we had known this would happen, we would have done it much earlier", "That's what you get for being uptight Dinosaurs with a stick up your rectum", "Who would have thought we had a deflatable government?"

Grow up Thailand and admit you have a talent for this stuff. If it wasn't for pretties like these (but the darker skinned versions from poorer backgrounds) a HUGE chunk of tourist revenue would never have made its way into the coffers of those who take.

Why is the video censored? She's wearing a bikini. She's not naked. I have checked out an uncensored version on youtube and there is nothing too explicit about her bikini. I've seen worse in Big C magazine.

The Ford (or Volkswagen) in the backround is also censored.... wacko.png

Its a pornographic car according to the minister of Boobs whistling.gif

Pretty amateurish choreography and not very sexy at all.

It seems to me that some people in high office in Thailand sound more like people from Malaysia or Indonesia...what is wrong with these people?

And all to sell a Pioneer hi-fi in a red Mazda... says a lot about their target markets and customer demographic

Clearly the Ministry will, in future, have nothing to do with these Japanese companies using debauchery to sully the thespian pursuits of Thai youth a government boycott of their products must be immanent.

At least we have been saved from snail trails down the windscreen!!

No Easter eggs on sale anywhere nearby so I just ate the dictionary!

Hmmm .... I thought that true traditional female Thai dress was a Sarong with nothing covering the bust.

My only observation on the video is that the performers clearly did not attend dance school. Though the performance is totally harmless.

They are neither beautiful, nor do they have a clue about how to move and dance. Artificial and non-appealing to me. :-) The same wherever you watch the wanna-be snobs in their in-restaurants & clubs. Showtime with ZERO depth.....Has become a weird, weird place......MS>

Disgusting....should be locked up....(how long does the show go on for?)

PS....just inquiring so as not to let "she who must be obeyed" see it" ...and start getting any fancy ideas?....I have enough trouble getting to sleep without her starting that caper.

Yesterday the taxi firms are ignoring the Government

Today the motor Show organisers are ignoring the Government

Over Songkran the motorists will be ignoring the Government

What an ignorant government!

What... No one got shot..knifed..raped or harmed in any way...

I have no idea what it has to do with car sales ... Or even car accessories... But I admire the two fingers approach to government interference...

Swivel.. I think was the message

I have been to a couple of Auto shows in Bangkok and I have always

enjoyed the Asian models that are there to spice up the surroundings.

The Cars were nice to look at, but I admit I took many more pictures of

the models, than I did of the cars. Long Live Thailand and its Auto shows.

I have also seen a few bar shows on the higher floors of entertainment places

which make this Show, look very tame. wink wink nudge nudge. Wahoo!

Geezer

The dancing was poor and the imagery was not proper for the venue. I have nothing against a risque performance per se- however, theie were children in the crowd and this type of thing sends the wrong message. The whole concept of 'sex selling' is exactly what is wrong with society. This was not a protest against the government- it is an example of a materialistic, greedy car industry. If I wanted to buy a car- I could care less about gyrating dancers. I just don't want my children to be subjected to such nonsense. When I want to see this stuff, I go have a drink and visit the entertainment district. I don't bring my kids.

No big deal about bikini's at a boat show or 'pretties' at a car show. Simulating sex and noises like a porn movie are simply not appropriate at either a boat show or a car show. The proper venue for that type of behavior is in a club or bar where patrons walk in and expect that type of thing. You don't expect simulated sex at a car show where children may be present. This has nothing to do with culture- it has to do with proper behavior and common sense. Freedom is wonderful but so is social responsibility which is lacking everywhere in today's society.

Hard to know who one should feel more embarrassed for - the performers in this tasteless spectacle or the gawping onlookers.

Hard to know who to feel most sorry for - the performers in this tawdry spectacle or the gawping onlookers. Just glad I wasn't there with my wife and kids.

In addressing the title of this thread it seems the error was made early on. It seems the cultural Minister was confused in thinking that car culture is part of Thai culture. Going back even further I seem to recall the Ministry of Culture was something Thaksin put together as some sort of crony reward to have some sort of title for someone. It was acknowledged as toothless and useless then and still apparently is now.

What would you expect if the more traditional upholder of moral standards look at their bodies in the mirror, clad in their traditional underwear and become disgusted enough to scream: OH NO!

Poorly managed. They forgot to install the chrome pole and give her the number tag.

Easy to see where you've been spending your time while in Thailand heheee. Those girls at the car show have in too much clothing for your suggestion

what a sick morality here. On the one hand you can see girls playing with bananas in their strip shows, being subject of many porn movies and on the other hand I'm seeing girls at the beach going for swimming in their normal clothes. In fact this video looks stupid. There is nothing to talk about

Good show but never understood how this can influence any sane person to buy a particular brand of car. Many things need considering before a major purchase like this is made.

Agreed. I would want to experience the performance in person instead of just admiring the bodywork from a distance before making any sort of financial commitment. 555

Wow, a lot of wowsers here. The girls were not naked, I reckon they probably had underpants on under the bikini bottoms and bras under the tops. You see more on MTV or at the beach.

If they want to sell me a little tinny four cylinder car they are going to have to be a lot more explicit than that.

Anyway, they were paid for advertising, and now they have everyone talking about it. So mission accomplished.

Clever people these Thais.
