PHATUM THANI:-- Four men involved in a gun and knife robbery of two female workers on their way home in Pathum Thani Wednesday have been arrested, reports Thaivisa News.

The factory workers were riding along Soi Wat Sadet when four men on two bikes produced a gun and knives and stole their bike and other valuables before speeding off.

The ringleader, understood to also be involved in a case of killing, told police he robbed the girls "on the spur of the moment." He was due to be ordained into the monkhood on Sunday.

The four suspects - Thanakarn (or Karn) Thuamwong, 21, Burin (Nert) Metnutha, 24, Anuphap (Tu) Senpak, 23 and an unnamed 17 year old - were identified by the victims at Suan Prik Thai police station, Pathum Thani, said police.

CCTV in the area of the robbery led to a raid at a nearby housing estate that helped apprehend the gang. Three motorbikes were seized along with other evidence including a .32 gun and four bullets, a knife and clothing that it is claimed was worn on the day of the attack.

Police said all the suspects have previous offences. Suspected gang leader Thanakarn claimed the crime was done on the spur of the moment. He said he was due to become a monk on Sunday.

"He said he was due to become a monk on Sunday."

Typical monk.

pathum thani again! this weeks, we got several shoot out, robbing at gun point, assault

either all the criminals live there

either its all the journalists who live in the area...

Due to be ordained on sunday.

Well he would have been perfect for that.

Well thats one less that they really didn't need for the local Wat... Might make them a little lighter on brown envelopes though...

He simply misunderstood. He thought a crime was a prerequisite to becoming a monk.

After all that is the path of many politicians and drunk drivers who have killed someone. coffee1.gif

Don't be so harsh they was only looking for donations !!!

Actually, it was the ultimate sacrifice, committing a crime to better enable him to empathize and counsel wayward miscreants...or to send them back out to garner more filthy lucre.

why do posters assume that this low-life will not get to be ordained on Sunday? All it takes in Thailand is a Wai and a promise.....
