True Technicolor router to bridge mode?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have a Technicolor router from True with my home internet service. I have that going into an Apple Airport Extreme which is set to bridge mode, and have a couple of Airport Expresses extending that network. This is at a home office environment, which not only has a number of PCs but also various other devices on the network (printer, a couple apple TVs, Sonos system).

I'm wondering if there are too many devices for the Technicolor router to handle, and whether I should have the Airport Extreme handle these. If so, I guess I'd need to put the Technicolor router into bridge mode and handle everything through the Airport? I have a few questions:

1) Would having the Airport handle the hard work help my home network?

2) Can this router be put into Bridge mode?

3) Can anyone think of a better way to handle our setup?

I had a couple techs from True out the other day but they could only tell me they thought there were too many devices on the Technicolor router (24 at that time). They could not help me with any of the above questions on a proper setup.

I appreciate any feedback and advice. Thanks. Andy

1) No

2) Maybe like TOT/CAT fiber by calling them and ask them to change it to bitmode/bridge

3) Your requirements are quite low, anything will suffice.
