All this kerfuffle , visa - no visa etc , got me thinking (and that does not often happen!)

I'm not sure if the exodus has already started or it will really happen in January.

Anyway , there may be a passel of people leaving LOS.

What us Irish do , see , is we leave Ireland and then we SING about it.

To make it easy , take a song and put new words to it.

The following should be crooned to the toon of "The mountains of Mourne"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh Mary this Pattaya is a wonderful sight

They're boozin' and hourin' by day and by night

Don't need no visa , leastways not yet

In the mornin' we're grabbin' a bus to Poipet

The ladies are lovely but exceedingly tall

Pat's after tellin' me they're not ladies atall

One of them says to me she'll "love me long time"

Pat smiles and says to her "he ain't got a dime"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do not feel obliged to stick to this tawdry/bawdry model.

The bucolic delights of Nakhon Nowhere are valid.

Sing out !

I love the song but it doesn't apply to Nakhon Nowhere which is where I live.

My nearest farang neighbour is a French person who lives near the village about 5 km away, an American about 15 km away, my Danish mate who lives next door but one but only for about a month of the year. There some others who are generally in the village on the Wednesday market day, usually around the bank or 7/11.
