Us Visa 4 Thai Wife

Featured Replies

My Thai wife and I have been married for almost 2 years now; both Buddhist Ceremony and Ampur visit. We also have a little baby girl.

I am told getting a Visa for her to the US [baby and I have US citizenship] is easy but I am not sure about the right approach or what to ask for.

Non Imm, Immigrant, Tourist.

We'd like to be able to come and go or stay in US as long as we please.

How long should it take to get ?

Anyone with experience with this .... advice and comments are appreciated.

I did a search but inexplicably came up empty for some reason.

Thank you

The tourist visa to the US is a non immigrant visa but does not allow more than visits up to six months normally. The other option is immigrant visa and green card but that will require full immigration process and would not be designed for visits but if you want to live there it is the only option available. As you have lived here for several years you can apply at the immigration office in Bangkok and it will cut the wait down considerably. But you should probably be prepared to live in the US for an extended period of time and allow wife to obtain citizenship.

All the info on going to the US is available at visajourney.com , timelines and all, it is very helpful. I go for our interview next week in Bangkok and I applied for a K1 in March, so it does take some time. Good luck!
