BANGKOK: -- After an extensive US$112 million re-build, Siam Discovery is now ready to be unveiled to the public.

The grand opening – expected to cost an additional US$8.5 million – will be held on 28th May 2016 for Thailand’s largest lifestyle specialty store.

Owned and operated by Siam Piwat Co., Ltd., who also own Siam Paragon, Siam Centre, Paradise Park and ICONSIAM in a joint venture, Siam Discovery is the latest showpiece for Bangkok as the retail hub of the AEC and a preferred spot for shoppers the world over.

Also described as the “biggest arena of lifestyle experiments,” Siam Discovery will be home to the first Thailand rollout of many famous brands and will be abundant in interactive activities and surprise experiences created with the latest technology.

The Discovery was always a very boring small mall. The floors are too small so it's no fun to walk around.

Siam Centre has improved a lot last years but now it's expensive like a European mall.

I think these mall developers should follow American news carefully. Amazon type merchandising is in mall shops are on their way out. Its amazing that these fancy malls are going up all over yet they seem empty when you visit them. I have been to the new Maya mall one time and prefer Kad Suan Kaew. This old girl still has lots of life left in er

Buying any famous brand in Thailand will set you back some serious cash because of the luxury goods tax. I love Diesel, Replay and Co., but I'm certainly not gonna fork out 400 Euros for a pair of jeans. Back in the 90s you could get a pair for 150 Marks in Germany, which is about 80 Euro, not adjusted for deflation. Even in Germany you have to pay at least 200 Euro for a pair of jeans. It's just insane.
