Applying for visit visa for my Thai girlfriend

Featured Replies

Hello I'm applying for a visit visa for my girlfriend can I still do the application for her here in the uk then send the application and paperwork I did this last year but confused as all I can find on the visa 4 uk website is about applying for a visa outside the uk

Yes you can. Much scurrying around to the copy shop etc for the GF last June to get it right. Time-wise it took longer with the scurrying around but we did it. I completed and paid for the application from the UK and emailed her a lot of the paperwork. She still had to go to an amphur to get copies of her divorce papers and get them translated and then onto VFS in Bangkok to submit the documents etc.

The system will automatically assume that the applicant is outside the UK so default to that.

There is no reason why you cannot assist your girlfriend in the preparation of her application from within the UK though, she should, ideally, be able to access the application and print it off to enable her to hand it in, you could of course print it and send it to her to sign and hand in together with her supporting documents.

I printed out as a PDF and emailed it. The GF's is not that good with computers and hopeless remembering passwords. For her first visit visa I printed almost everything off here and couriered it. A few last minute changes involved three trips to the copy shop.

She knew them quite well by then. For the next VV I emailed most items directly to the copy shop and she just had to pick them up.
