Pop Beads

Featured Replies

I was reading the fresh water pearl thread over in the farming forum and my brain suddenly had visions of pop beads.....haven't thought about them for a long long time. REmeber them? They were plastic beads that had a hole on one side and a knobbed post on the other and the post from one would snap (I guess the correct word is "pop", not "snap")into the hole of the next one. They were quite the fashion item amongst children at least in the US way way back maybe just after the hula hoop craze....anyone remember them and have any exciting/interesting/informative/innocuous/boring things to relate about them or related stuff????..........do ya?

P.S. I didn't do a search for this so please forgive me if I have missed some previous discussions on this topic.

Actually the first thing that popped (pun intended) into my head when I read the fresh water pearl thread was about giving someone a pearl necklace....but I decided to post the pop beads instead.

And Thaddeus....your link is off the mark....that's not what pop beads are at all.

It wasn't made in reference to pop beads, I don't have an interest in them as they sound a bit 'girlie' .... the link was in reference to having a nostalgic moment :o

What can I say? The new Bond film is out today and I've let myself get carried away with all the hype.
