Surface Pro 3 screen change in BKK

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I've broken my beloved Surface Pro 3 screen and here (in Cambodia), they ask me $375 for a full replacement arround 11.000 THB

Is there any change that I can find a cheaper option in BKK (MBK, Pantip..) ?

Thanks

Microsoft do a device replacement for approx USD300 depending on the currency of whichever country you make the service request from. The service isn't available in all countries. I'm not sure about Cambodia. Likely not.

In Thailand, the price is exactly THB10K and for that they will send TNT couriers to collect your device and a few days later will deliver you a replacement. The chances are that the replacement device will be a brand new unit though they don't guarantee that. Obviously you need to get all your data off the broken device before sending it to them.

To initiate a service request go to: https://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/support/register

In most cases of a dropped SP3, the digitizer cracks but the LCD functions so can still be used with a keyboard to extract your data. If the LCD is broken too you can either connect an external screen (requires a display port adaptor) or use a utility to enable remote desktop from the network.

If you go to ebay or aliexpress and search for "Surface Pro 3 screen assembly" you will see by the price level why no one seems to be able to beat Microsoft's repair price.
