Samsung SUHDTV 4K replacement

Featured Replies

I have a 65inch Samsung 4K SUHDTV model  UA65JS8000KXXT (flat). Some pixels burned out and Samsung offered to replace the whole unit with a New model : UA65KS9000KXXT. I think this new one is a curved. Any thoughts reviews on the old vs new? Should I go for the swap?

Take it before they change their minds.

I don't care about 4k as most of my content is probably 720p at best.

Just got a sony non-smart tv that hooks up well to any media box….

I hate curved screens but if you dont mind them then you should certainly take the swap-out offer.

Go and have a look in a shop first before deciding.

You dont need 4k content to get the benefit of a 4k screen.

List them.

1. I don't believe they sell 720p TV's anymore.

2. The smart Samsung 4K tvs have up-scaling which infill's the pixels to make any old movie more crisp. Its re-mastering technology.

I can say without a doubt my present 4K UA65JS8000KXXT makes old movies far crisper than my previous fullHD TV. Also quite compactable with my Galaxy S6 which records video in 4K. Most new cameras and smart phones record in 4K now.

I use a full hd 1080p led panel 42 in tv....it does tge upscaling and makes even low res stuff like 480p look great. Plus it cost less than 9,000 bht.

These 4k 60 inchers can be in the region of 150-180k baht.

They can, but I was looking at some nice ones priced at around 100kBaht yesterday. 55in models can be had for under 50kBaht.

Powerbuy has the new model 65inch curve 4K : UA65KS9000KXXT for 99K baht.

9k baht vs 99k baht

the difference is 3 months of LTs…..:whistling::gigglem:

The picture in mine is GREAT for the sources I use in Kodi etc….but the sound is a bit tinny.

My solution will be to get a Nakamichi Station 6 sound bar which is around 4.5K baht.

Ive seen these curve models in 4K…they look in the store but somehow don't perform the same at home….they have a "store setting" that makes it look good under all the bright white lighting.

How are the curved screens for a room where many people would be watching, hence off center?  Is it weird to watch a movie or a football game while sitting considerably off center?

I think so and that's one of the reasons I dont like them.

I tried the 3D on my TV a couple of times and hated it.

I decided to take the offer. Have to wait a couple weeks. Did the side by side comparison of specs and in a store views and the new curved just looked better. Off center about same as the flat. I also found the curved had reduced reflections contrary to what reviews say. This curve model has no 3D so I'll have a couple 3D glasses for sale.

I am about to decide for a 65" SUHDKS9000.... I mostly watch Netflix. Has anyone an opinion how the TV will perform with my slow internet from TOT delivers only 10 MBps? thanks a lot for any valuable feedback as I can't expect an honest answer from the sellers.

You won't be streaming 4k from Netflix but the 1080 stuff should still look OK. I usually download a torrent of a blockbuster I want to watch - you can get a few 4k titles now.

Now I still have Samsung 40" smart
Tv (SD) and the quality is pretty good, actually watching Bloodline. You think I might get a worse image with 65" SUHD? Unfortunaely they don't have internet at the Powermall/ Central festival and I guess it might be to avoid bad quality display...Would a HD or UHD Tv eventually be better?

It depends on how far away from the screen you are. I doubt a top quality TV will deliver a worse picture than a lesser one.
