I dont know anything about this system

I use Skype, it is free to join, and free to call skype to skype, to call landlines all over the world the cost is 2bht a minute,

You can also purchase for about 30usd a year a land line number. So for instance I have a british number, people from the UK still think I am in the UK and can call me on a 0207 number at local rate.

Were ever I am on earth, I sign into skype, (same as msn) and can make and receive phone calls from that computer.

The skype also has a answer system so people can leave messages if you are not at the machine.

If people in the west have a mobile with free monthly minutes, it is free for them to call your skpe number. if they have free local and national calls on their land line, to call your skpe number is free. This is cheap for you to make calls, but it is also cheap and even free for people from the west to call you here in thailand

If they are on skype the can call you for free.

When I travel, I take a usb phone with me, then I go to an internet café sign in and make calls back to the uk for 2bht a minute.

Personally I wouldn’t sign into a small system. Like email, I would only use msn or yahoo for mail and the same goes for internet phone, Skype is the biggest and it is free,If any one would like help or advice about using Skype, pm me

Do any other members use Skpye or any other computer type system to make and receive calls both locally and abroad ?

Yes I do

But I only call the computer of my good pals from my computer.I have no use of all the features described in the previous reply.Quality in general from average to perfect.I use my webcam too with skype.

Noproblem

I have been using Skype for several months and my previous company made it a standard for international inter-company phone calls.

I have found the quality excellent for computer to computer. When calling land lines I occassionally get a bad line and have to call a second time - this usually fixes it and the quality of call is good and cheap (less than 2p a minute to UK).

You can also purchase a UK telephone number so when people back home wont to call you they can on a UK number. Cheap for them to call you.

Hello,

As I work in the USA and live in Chiang Mai VOIP is very important to me... I have skype and a skype in number, plus Packet8.net and Lingo.com both are devices that allow me to make phone calls anywhere in the USA, Mexico, all of western Europe for one low price 19.95 a month unlimited calls. Packet8 is by far the best... but doesnt have the all of western Europe for free.. Lingo has all of western Europe for free and many features, voicemail to email, many many other features..but the quality of the call is a bit less.. but only a bit...

If I didnt have VOIP it would not make sense for me to live here..

I use VoipDiscount. Very reliable- call free to Landlines anywhere in the world.
