BANGKOK: -- Evidence is building up against the woman known as "Lady Kai" - witnesses will be in court today - August 11th - to begin the case against the woman charged with making false and malicious claims against her former employees.

In the latest twist to the case an associate of Lady Kai called Ladapha Laksanai, 73, who used to work for the education ministry in Nonthaburi has said that she has proof that Lady Kai did not have funds as she claimed, reported Daily News.

She was given a watch to look after that Lady Kai said was a Rolex that she claimed had been stolen by a former employee but later returned to her. It was not a Rolex at all but a much cheaper brand.

And her acquaintance believes that it was never stolen in the first place but part of what Lady Kai later alleged was taken from her by various staff in her household.

Ladapha is also ready to give evidence that she was ripped off by Lady Kai in a land deal in Prajuab Kirri Khan and in an apartment purchase in Bang Seu in Bangkok.

She also said that Lady Kai asked to borrow 20 baht weight of gold from her to sell to pay off a nun that she had tricked in Payao province.

Ladapha said that it didn't seem like Lady Kai was rich to her if she had to borrow money like that.

What we have here is a case of a con woman that will stop and nothing to control

people and try to enrich herself in the process, she should be dealt with as the law

require for false impressments, cruelty and false reporting of event that never happened,

she should'n really see day light out of prison for many, many years......

She is just the front runner, a stool, controlled by her masters who made money using her.

When she got out of control, or rather her victims got out if her control the card box buildings collapsed.

It would be far more interesting to see who are the people who supplied her with body guards, police escorts and conned hotels and entrepreneurs in this con scam.

we will never know i guess.

It has nothing to do with how much money she has, she is a compulsive con artist amongst many other things, this is from 'Fraud Victim Advocacy'  -  " Con artists scam because it gives them infinite pleasure to "put one over" on anyone who stands still long enough.  The compulsion to scam is so strong that a con artist will produce a scam even if he/she gains no money out of it.  Con artists even scam each other!

Amongst the allegations against her are that she made false allegations against people some of whom ended up in prison.

Is there any update on the supposed investigation into officials,  senior police officers etc who were supposedly complicit with her is is that an aspect that will be kept as quiet as possible and allowed to disappear   ?

This woman is evil, plain and simple, and should be made to pay heavily for the incredible distress she has caused.

Agree, a long sentence to show others what punishment goes with this type of activity.

As a long time grifter her fall from grace is going to provide a lot of entertainment.

But I hope her victims are not forgotten and they find some justice along the way. Especially those who were trafficked.

... and those who were put to prison innocently

and btw why is this scum called Lady again - everybody knows better now

She wont be enjoying herself much anymore, at 73 she may never be released.

Wow, she sure has aged since being locked up.    Can prison age a person that fast or could it be a lack of reading comprehension?   She was 56 when arrested in early July.

grifting is a classy art.   where the mark is always saturated in greed and money.    there needs to be more pro grifters here.  this  dog lady aint no grifter.

shes a mark that was passed cause shes broke. shes just a thai scammer. not a grifter.

...sounds more like an accomplice trying to get her off the hook ...(?)

...she has thrived for 20 years....(?)

...quite ignorant to think that she would keep her spoils in plain  view of anyone...

....20 years...(?)

...to Hong Kong and back...and who knows where else....was Switzerland mentioned as well...(?)

...the real questions are:

1. 'Why was she allowed to operate for so long?"...

....even as recently as 2 years ago...when victims tired to file against her....they were charged instead....

....and...

2. "Who has been backing her all this time?".....

***

...sadly it already seems like these questions will never been asked....nor answered....
