Thai police intercept submachine gun bound for deep south

An officer checks the intercepted firearm on Thursday at Udon Thani City Police station.

UDON THANI — A businessman from the northeast is under investigation for trying to mail a submachine gun to an associate in Songkhla province, where Muslim separatists have battled security forces for over a decade.

Although the weapon appeared to be properly registered, police said they want to know why someone would send a firearm to the sensitive region.

The only thing i know about guns is to never aim one to people when not necessary.

And what do i see the officer doing?

Thai police carry guns.

The first rule when carrying/ holding a gun is do not point it at people.

This brain dead man is breaking that first rule, and he has supposedly been trained in gun use:cheesy:

So now some new fabricated rule about 'sensitive regions'.

Every else apparently in order.

What next?

How does a person acquire  a " properly registered "  submachine gun

It blows my mind that some loon could own it  :whistling:

Send it by post  GOD knows where it would end up

It means semi automatic. Even most pistols fall under that category.

as for people owning it., what business is it of yours if no crime was committed?

A sub machine gun fires on FULL auto not semi auto

As for the rest of your comment I hope the loon with this gun has a party near you

A civilian can get a submachine gun registered but it's virtually impossible for anyone outside of law enforcement to get a license for a bullet-proof vest. Strange priorities on public safety.

No, what you really hope for  is that people like me who support gun ownership rights get shot.

Gun ownership by law abiding citizens is no one else's concern.

You can have your guns in your home country that's your choice

I don't wish anyone to get shot

Twice was enough for me

Vietnam and Rhodesia

In Thailand there are way too many loons running around with them

The sole use of any type of gun is to kill.

The only alternative use for it is as a hammer.

It doesn't really matter what kind of gun it is either.

Pistol, rifle, sub machine gun, machine gun, cannon or even field artillery. Single shot, semi automatic, fully automatic or whatever it is designed to kill things.

On their own, locked up, away from ammunition they are perfectly safe and harm nobody. However put it the hands of a human being and nobody knows what will happen or when.

Not only that^^^, but the bolt is forward and the white line on the fire selector is lined up with the red line which means FIRE
