Over to you Prime Minister Prayut. Show the people of Thailand what you are made of. This is a test case.

Is the family of the deceased going to receive  justice or not?

You need to prove yourself to your fellow citizens on Thailand's law and order and civil rights.

The world is watching.

Do you really think the world gives a rat's toss? They are oblivious to the rich criminal protection program.

What's the bet if asked about this the PM will use his stock answer that he's not going to interfere and is happy to leave it to the relevant agencies to handle   ?

If they cater to this POS in any way or to any degree by allowing this garbage to happen, I will loose ALL respect for the Thai justice system, and retain very little for the people or the country. They should already have knocked down his door, thrown the cuffs on him and dragged that human garbage off to a cell and made Daddy forfeit his bail money. Absolutely disgusting people!

Fair enough; he currently needs help. Admit him to a Thai mental hospital as an inpatient until such a time as he feels well enough to stand trial - It is the only fair and compassionate action under the circumstances and I am sure he will start feeling better quickly....

And of course with checks that he is really staying there (unexpected ones). Unfortunately I doubt this will happen.

An independent examination of the person would be good too though i think things like this can be faked.

so now that this vile <deleted> has realised he is no longer going to be able to buy his way out of a conviction because ******Thailand has changed****** he is now acting like the irresponsible scumbag coward that he is for all to see.  I vote yes

I hope this sets a president going forward and a strong message to the rest of these scum that they can no longer do as they please and can no longer buy their way out of justice, just maybe they will start behaving with some measure of responsibility............................you are no longer above the law

Next, Thai authorities need to stop standing around and allowing these criminals to evade arrest, if they don't turn up for court then arrest them....no more excuses

Redbull next........that one has been allowed to go on for far too long and next the fraudster monks

and a full reform of the justice system and police needs to follow

Let us know when you wake up.

Thanks!

If as he is claiming, that he is insane, is he still being allowed to go around collecting Alms from people?

If as claimed he is insane, he should not be allowed out of the wat, going amongst the general public.

He left the monkhood once that part of the charade had served its purpose. More recently, he has been seen dressed mostly in white and looking sufficiently doleful and downcast. Once the sell-by date expires on that public presentation, we can expect a photo op where he is seen prostrating himself in front of images.

I have to admit, the insanity defense is completely left-field. Of course his legal counsel may have confused it with influenza or something else that needs a doctor or medication that isn't readily available in LOS.

...after careful delays...discussion...deliberation....

...they have come up with a plan....

...so will they lock him up in an asylum for the rest of his life....etc.....

...or will it pass if all the charges are dropped...

...and will he be allowed to drive a vehicle.....

...as per usual....

And on another website his lawyer has only divulged his first name, and refuses to give his personal family name.

Strange...

pretty simple.. order  a medical exam.. if indeed he has problems then committ him to mental health hospital until they are  resolved and postpone trial until then.....family to pay for hospital costs and situation on watching brief by the courts and a member of the deceased's family ........

While I agree that he is unfit (to exist), he is not insane.  But if he is, he should then be remanded to a state institution for the insane for the rest of his life as he represents an extreme danger to the public.

Perhaps if your site worked, an edit would not have been required. THINK ABOUT IT.

Too late.  The 'Test Case' was Koh Tao, and in that disgusting episode not only did Prayut fail miserably, but showed his true colors by praising and rewarding the police for their 'good work'.

PS:  The 'World' really doesn't care.  The world has it's own problems, Thaiand pales in comparrison.

You must be fresh off the boat if you still have some respect for the Thai "jutice" system left to lose...me, I don't have that problem anymore. None left. :coffee1:

Even when he did promise to ensure justice, to the mum of the young Aussie lad horrendously assaulted and beaten by rich kid Chinese American tourists nothing changes. How's that case going - no where fast and the young Aussie struggles to re-build his life with zero chance of justice for the scumbags who did him.

Red Bull boy case - gone off the radar again.

Killer girl who fudged her community service and the tried to sue the officials for catching her - gone quiet again.

Actor caught on CCTV shooting "friend" in the head after night boozing - simply disappeared.

The list just goes on and on. There isn't a justice system in the sense we construct. Different rules depend on who you are, family, social position, wealth and fame. And for those in the top echelon - it's get away with whatever time. Sickening.

His lawyer is playing the mental breakdown card, not insanity plea (yet).

The court should appoint independent expert doctors to examine the defendant and determine the extent of the breakdown, treatment and time frame for when he is fit to stand trial.

If they plead insanity, then that would require commitment to a suitable institution for treatment until such time as the doctors there decide the period of insanity is over, or the treatments can continue in the community. Again the doctors will decide when the time is right for trial.

It cannot be allowed to happen just on the say so of the defense lawyer or experts they provide and pay.

This looks like a play for time, lengthy postponements and delays to try and run out the statue of limitations, or delay the trial until the public have largely forgotten and not care so much about the case. The chances of getting a lowly conviction and lenient sentence in the current public mood are not good enough so delay, delay, and delay. Do a runner if worse comes to worse a la torro rosso.

And so the hi-so games begin...

Send him off to the military court in Chiang Mai no bail sit in prison. In my estimation the misinformation charge is a lesser charge than  the Jenphop case but of  more overall impact by showing the public who is in charge. Thailand worries so much about credibility well they are loosing it fast to these fiascoes.

It may be better to admit him to a secure wing of a Thai mental hospital as an inpatient until at least 5 Thai mental health specialists examine him and decide if he is fit to stand trial.

That may take 10 years or so and he cannot be released until he is certified as normal whereupon he can be held in prison until his case comes up and if he is found guilty then so be it. Of course if he appeals then he must stay in jail with no bail as he is a flight risk until all the appeals are exhausted which may take a few years more.

He should be sent to remove roadside IUD's in the South for community service.

Roadside IUD's?  I suppose that's one way of keeping the population down.  Shame his mother didn't use one.
