Beach cleaning conducted in Cherng Thale of Phuket

PHUKET: -- Local people, comprising teachers, students, officials and business operators, yesterday helped clean up the Bang Tao beach in Cherng Thale sub-district of Phuket.

The activity, arranged by the local administration organization, expected to promote environmental awareness among local residents under the ‘Bang Tao Beach conservation’ program, also included underwater garbage collection in the bay.

The local people said they also launched the activity in honour of His Majesty the King for his 60th Anniversary of his Accession to the Throne. The public and private sector there will also organize ‘Bang Tao Night Fishing Game 2006’ during November 25th – 26th. The annual event aims at promoting the local fishing industry and tourism.
