SAMUI: -- One man was killed and three others were hospitalized on Saturday night after they were electrocuted while working in a wastewater retention pond at a hotel on Koh Samui.

The men were using a pump to drain water from the pond at a hotel in Baan Cherng Mon, Bo Phut, when the pump became submerged in the water, electrocuting them.

Police reported that a hotel staff member spotted the unconscious men in the pond and pulled the plug on the pump.

copy and paste. same same. RIP.

Ground wire, not needed. Circuit breaker, not needed. Ground fault indicator, not needed.

The whole country is like this. Your house and condo too. Don't think so? Unless you stood there and watched them build your house, saw them drive the ground rod into the Earth and saw them hook the common Earth ground up, you are kidding yourself.

'Qualified' technicians who graduated from technical college under the 'No-Fail' policy?

Labour is so cheap there - why no safety man?

Samui Times sleeping again?

Sad thing is they have no clue why it happened..

No proper education so what do you expect ? My dad was an electrician and he learned me a lesson or two . I will do the work myself if necessary .

didn't "see them" do any of those things. Wired the entire house myself, installed three different earth rods and a breaker box with a main ground fault interrupter for the whole place. did this because all of the things you stated above are true for the majority of the places here.
