"Double" re-entry permit

Featured Replies

I know there's no such thing as a double re-entry permit but I may need to leave Thailand twice in quick succession.

Will this entail two trips to the Immigration Office or can I get two stamps in one go? I don't need a multi, just two exits.

I think the simple probability of confusion points to the former but maybe someone's done this.

yes will be interesting to learn from this.

Single Re-Entry permit is baht 1,000.  Guess you could ask for two of them, who knows, they might agree.  If not, then go twice.

Alternatively, a Multiple Re-Entry permit is baht 3,800.

I doubt if they'll issue another one until the first one is used/expires.

The same as you can't have two Visas current at the same time?

I don't think they will issue two single re-entry permits at the same time.

Perhaps best to pay 1800 baht more and get a multiple re-entry permit rather than having to make another trip to get the 2nd single re-entry permit.

I didn't think so but it was worth asking on here.

Immigration's not too inconvenient and less hassle in low season so two singles will be OK. I just dislike going there. Let's see how many times I'll need to fill in the personal information form!

Why not just get a single re-entry permit at the airport each time you leave? took me 5 minutes last time at DMK.

Just curious. I have a 6am flight out of BKK. Is the re-entry permit open 24 hrs?

When I last used it, it was 24 hours. I would strongly expect this is still the case. It shared the same office as that for overstay payers.

For Don Mueang (DMK) it is still 24 hours a day.

But at Suvarnabhumi  (BKK) it is only open 05:00 to midnight. See:  New location of re-entry office at Suvarnabhumi

I believe that the facility no longer exists at Phuket, where both my flights will be from.

This may be true, but is worth checking. The phuket Airport website implies it is possible (see http://phuketairportthai.com/en/488-arrivals). This thread (http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/883645-can-get-re-entry-permit-at-phuket-airport/) indicates someone was able to get one in February.
