Getting A New Thai Driver's License In Pattaya

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I am looking to get my first Thai driver's license. I recently read somewhere that in Bangkok they are no longer accepting the statement of Thai address from Thai immigration. Instead, there you need to go to your embassy. What about for those in Pattaya? Is the immigration document still accepted? Anyone with more recent experience with this would be most helpful.

I renewed my DL about two months ago and had the address changed on my new license using the adress statement from Pattaya immigration.

You need some form of proof of address to get this statement from immigration; phone bill, utility bill or rental agreement.

I renewed my car and MC license in May this year. I got 2 address confirmation forms 1 for car and one for MC and each cost 200 baht. Both were accepted at the licensing department. Jomtien Immigration are doing these forms all the time.

I got my first driving licence this year, the address part was covered by a letter given to me by immigration.

Good look.
