What's with these "sports bars"?

Live in the city Khon kaen. Often see these little shops with opaque glass fronts. Normally an open 24 hour sign and colored neon sign saying "sport" or something like that. I'd walk in and have a look but look like Thai places. Are they gambling joints or knock shops or what?

Sports Bar = A bar with a big TV that's tuned to...sports.

I understand they show darts and snooker in these sports bars, there is obviously not

a trades and descriptions act in Thailand.
